#Never a dull moment
Never a dull moment By Judith Dandison
NEVER A DULL MOMEMT: Responsibility Breeds Character.
Character as referred to here is in the sense of positive strength. Years ago when I was about 16 Years old, straight out of High/Secondary School. I had the idea of picking up a small job, not that I knew the kind of Job I wanted, or that I wanted the job because I had an Idea of what I could earn or that I actually understood the value and need for money. I was just naive, I just wanted to get a Job because that was what every of my fellow classmates said they would do once we graduated. On arriving home after a day long journey from my school, as I schooled several States away from Home, I told my father that I would start searching for a small Job the next day which I would do till I secured admission in the University. He did not utter a word. The next day, I woke up in the morning dressed up and matched to my father and said; “Dad, I’m ready to go and look for the Job”. He looked at me as if he was hearing it for the first time and answered in his usual stern voice, ” Work where? I have a Supermarket downstairs, go and be a sales girl there and I’ll pay you monthly”. That is how I began a serious and demanding Job that I did for the next 3 Years before I was able to secure an admission into the University to study law. Ironically I was only paid for the first one month and thereafter I was not paid again. Lessons learned from this Stint. My dad has always been a strict father, who does not allow for unnecessary socializing, lazing about and expects one to give every Assignment his/her best. His slogan is ‘Never a dull moment’. He rarely gives you money but expects integrity. The journey was not easy ‘at all’ but it molded my Character. I became stronger and more determined than most of by peers. I became very bold and a leader because at a time I was in charge of running the Supermarket and the Beauty Salon which demanded a lot of tough skin and confidence. So till date, I strive to do well in everything I do, not putting money first. I am satisfied and fulfilled when I get good results and I tell you this good results have been paying with both recommendations and money. In my work as a legal practitioner, this Strength of Character has been my most priced tool. I am grateful to God and my father for the experience and opportunity as I am a strong believer that things rarely happen by chance.

Juicy Challenges

A footballer has a major problem. He has the difficult challenge of working with his teammates to plan, tackle, run and get the rolling ball into the opponent's net within a limited time. This problem in a football game is not seen by the footballer and the spectators as a problem. Instead, it is viewed as a challenge that creates massive enjoyment for him and the spectators. This is why I tend to see the everyday problems in one's life, not as problems, but as challenges that must be undertaken, as of necessity, to give birth to beauty.
However, unlike a footballer taking up the challenge of playing the game of football with a broad smile on his face, most times we as humans may not be able to take up life challenges with broad smiles on our faces. For instance, in life, a heavily pregnant woman who is very zealous to see the beautiful face of her unborn child has the onerous task of going through labour and childbirth. I am yet to see a woman smiling through the pains of Labour and childbirth. She tackles the challenge with a face squeezed up in pains. But once this challenge is tackled by the woman and the health workers, a beautiful creation is brought to life.
We all want the best things in life but the truth is that they come after the preceding problems have been solved. For instance, a young child who needs to communicate with others will first have to go through the problem of not knowing how to speak from his mother's womb and then learn to speak.
All the good things we enjoy today in life, such as electricity, refrigerator, medications for the sick, computers, money, internet and even Facebook and much more, came to being when a bold person decided to see the problems they solve, not as problems, but as challenges that must be tackled.
All the good things we enjoy today in life, such as electricity, refrigerator, medications for the sick, computers, money, internet and even Facebook and much more, came to being when a bold person decided to see the problems they solve, not as problems, but as challenges that must be tackled.
Imagine that you can have anything you wanted, anything at all. I mean where every single person can wish for anything at all, good or evil and it will be his without sweats. I can only imagine what the world would have been. I can only see a world full of lazy, spoilt and insensitive inhabitants and uncontrollable evil.
So welcome, let's see these obstacles thrown at us and the problems presented in life, such as lack of money, lack of education, need for independence, unhappiness, hunger, disabilities and the likes, as challenges which we need and must work on to grow, to conquer and to achieve. Sometimes we may have to try and try again until we score that goal needed to win the game. In life as in a football game, there is no option of quitting but we may plan, restrategize, act, believe and win.
That's the game of life.
That's the game of life.
#unbendable Law of personal success
Unbendable Law of personal Success
By Judith Dandison
I am a career woman with an 8am-5pm Job, married and with kids. So, I can candidly say, it is a hectic life, though I am sure not complaining. I have a close friend with my kind of job and with a Larger family, in fact two families. She takes care of her sick mother, who does not live with her, everyday, and also runs her home. I can assure you I adore her and marvel at her strength because she actually handles her unending responsibilities well. But guess what, l don't compare myself to her or even beat myself up that I can't 'ever' work like her and this is why;-
The only unique thing each individual on earth has that any other person on earth does not have is 'himself' or 'herself'. God created each and every one of us uniquely, with his/her own unique strength, capabilities, talents, desires, challenges, blessings and fortune. So, why kill yourself because you don't have as much physical strength as your neighbour, or your wife cannot keep your house as clean as your friend's wife keeps theirs or that you can't seem to have as much beauty and charm as your friend Christie.
The truth of the matter is that every other life appears perfect from the eyes of another. We all have our unique gifts, so you only need to look for yours and build it up to enable it multiply because;
- Your friend can have rich parents - while you have a happier home.
- Your sister can be more beautiful- while you are very intelligent.
- Your friend's wife may make the cleanest home- while your wife makes a love-filled home.
- Your friend may ride the most expensive car today while you will own the largest Car Company tomorrow or better still while you have the most precious PEACE not to care who owns what or has what because that is not a problem after all.
You can only have a fulfilled life if you live your own beautiful and unique life in line with the dictates of GOD. Trust me, it is beautiful if you may only believe it is.
