I was an addict? No, I was not a drug addict, but I was addicted to watching a particular Reality Series. It is called ‘Reality Series’, reality, as in ‘real’, and gush I was in awe, and I felt some people are inexplicably blessed. Such all-minute fun, such affluence, such fame, but as I continued to be in awe for months as I watched this particular series the scale began to fall off my eyes. Yes, on the ‘Face Value’ there appeared to be lots of fun, fanciful lifestyle, splash of wealth, vulgarity, fame and all the things most people may view as a must-seek Happiness and accomplishment.
Recently I learnt of some young boys’ gushing when they were watching this same reality series I’ve been referring to. The boys are like “WOW! SUCH FUN, I WISH I WERE THE KARDASHIANS”, and I’m like, ‘ARE THEY REALLY SERIOUS, DO THEY WISH TO BE THE KARDASHIANS?” It is quite funny to me but I understand them, at their age they might not be able to read between the lines but may only see the fanciful pictures and scripted fun-filled lives of some persons that have challenges like everyone else in this world.
I don’t know what you think, but I know the lives of the Kardashians, which people and our youths in particular, are forced to believe is real, are not as fanciful as presented. For instance, the keeping up with the Kardashians Series was shot for close to one year from the time Bruce Jenner left the house before his divorce with Kris as if nothing of such happened. He was coming to the Kardashian home to shoot this series, to sell to the awed and watching public a healthy, cozy and fun-filled family life, when it was the complete opposite. That killed it for me when I found out a year later. Unreal Reality!
For crying out loud, their lives are not perfect but very far from it. It is pure business as every other one else is doing. It is a personal choice what you want to sell to the Public. All youths should wake up and stop wishing to have lives that are really not better than theirs. I am of the view that each one of us, brought into this world by the creator, is custom-made with problems and challenges he can bear and conquer, if he look inside himself and works towards being the best of him. Why wish to be someone else? Do you know the thoughts in the person’s mind, if he or she is really happy, fulfilled, or contented? Do you know if that person actually is not contemplating suicide even with the attractive life and smiles you see? IF FAME AND MONEY BRINGS HAPPINESS, THEN WHY DO SOME STARS AND SEEMLY ACCOMPLISHED INDIVIDUALS COMMIT SUICIDE?

I have worked
I have not slept when I ought to work
But I have failed to reap.
Forces beyond my control have made it
impossible for my Harvest to come in.
I despair.
I lack,
I hunger,

I ponder because I have prayed
I have praised
I worship and serve the Almighty
I have cried
I have sought
I have recounted the promises
of the Lord to me
But I still sink.
I ask myself, how long can my faith carry me.
I have hoped but it gets worse.
Have always made myself to smile through it all,
but as it worsens it becomes a burden to smile.
I don't have the strength to smile anymore.
I ponder, but I refuse to fall.
I kneel because I can't stand anymore
I frown and resign myself to fate
I tell the Almighty that,
if this is what he wishes for me,
let it be because I had promised him
I will never serve another God.
I just breathe and exist
Not caring what will happen next.
Then it all begins to change.
I start seeing favours,
unsolicited goodwill, Answers and the light.
I smile, I thank God, I praise him.
I smile, because I conquered,
I broke but did not fall.
I kept my promise
I survived.
I conquered because I didn't choose
the easy way out,
to sin or compromise myself.

This is me! This is my life! Taking one careful step after another, with a consistent smile, confidence and resilience (and all whilst being the brand and wearing red). Juggling much while focusing on a far distant vision. This life is not for everyone. You have to be a little bit crazy and have a very thick skin. Be prepared to live from hand to mouth and give your life to the 'cause'.
Years ago a fellow founder described being an entrepreneur as being like a clown punching bag: no matter what hits us we keep popping up, with a big smile on our face. I asked him once, "What happens if I just don’t get up one time?" He responded: "Well you wouldn’t be an entrepreneur then. That’s what it is to be an entrepreneur, we just keep going."
Why are entrepreneurs so "revered" — is it this resilience in the face of defeat? Journalists clamor to break the story of the "next big start up," "the overnight success story"... the reality is so far from this truth.
Most start ups remain small businesses. It is only a handful that truly scale and solve the problems of the world. Yet the public has a fascination with the idea of the rags to riches story. Founders as demi-gods. Maybe it is because people understand that precarious nature of what we do.
People often ask me about success, they want me to define "the one thing that created success for me." The answer – hard work – just is not that interesting for most people. There are no short cuts; I could have just as easily fallen from the tight rope, but I haven't. There are no guarantees.

By Judith Dandison'Julie, you have always been the luckiest amongst the two of us' says Janet. Juliet turns and stares at Janet with a look of surprise. 'Look at you, you are a success. I can't even believe we were born by the same parents', Janet continues. Juliet smiles calmly and says, 'I am not born luckier than you, I worked and sweated. I prepared myself to be ready and able to use any opportunities that showed up my way'.
Janet and Juliet were born 2 years apart to Mr and Mrs Stevens. Mr. Stevens died when Janet was 15 years old and Juliet 13. Their mother became sickly thereafter and couldn't do much for them financial. Two years after their father's death, she informed then they had to quit school as she couldn't meet up with their tuition.
The two girls were devastated. After two days of mulling Juliet decided it was in her hands to fight for her future. She decided to stop pitying herself and to take control of her life. While Janet on her side was angry at the whole world, angry at her father for bringing her into the world without her choice and then dying and leaving her desolate. Oh, most of all, she was angry at her mother for not breaking her back to she that she had good education like her friends.
What did they do? Juliet picked up a job to enable her go to school and she worked HARD. She knew that it was up to her to make a better future for herself and her sickly mom. Janet also picked up a Job but was laid off within one week because she was always late to work and was lousy at the Job. She took up another job as a baby sitter but was sacked on the third day when her employer caught her in bed with her eldest son.Seven years down the line, Juliet from her sheer hard work and determination and her decision to take control of her life holds a good post in an advertising company while Juliet is Jobless, living in her mother's house with a son she had with a married man and saying to anyone that cares to listen to her, that she has been unlucky all her life.
Unfortunately it is not luck that has made her unsuccessful in life so far but her ardent refusal to accept responsibility for her life. As Les Brown put it, 'Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else'. So get up and take hold of your life. Nobody is luckier than you. The decision to be successful is a decision you have to make by yourself and believe in yourself that you can do it. As Ray Kroc put it, "Luck is a dividend of sweat, the more you sweat the luckier you get".
So, if you don't prepare yourself, you will be handicapped to use an opportunity even where it stares you in the face.

Mr. Phillip's wife just gave birth to a set of twins one week ago. Unfortunately, they lost one of the twins. She died just before the delivery. Mr. Phillip had lost his job a month ago when the Company he was working with was shutdown. He is in a dear financial position. He is frustrated with his life and the recent bad experiences he's been having. His wife does not have a job or business. He had told her to quit her Job 3 years ago when they had their first child. Just yesterday, Phillip wanted to go to a Bank, not to pick money, because he has exhausted all his savings, but to meet his long time friend, Joshua, to borrow money from him. As he was about opening his door to leave the house, he heard a knock on the door. He opens wondering who would be knocking on his door at the time he desperately needed to go out. There was no food in the house and he had to act fast.
On opening the door, he saw Mr. Akin, his blind and lonely neighbour. Mr Akin enters and asks if he could sit. Phillip offers him a chair so as not to appear rude as he did not have time to chat. Phillip sat down and chatted with Mr. Akin for the next 30 minutes after which Mr. Akin left with a bright smile on his face.
Immediately, Phillip rushed into his car and drove to the Bank. On getting there, he noticed there was commotion in front of the bank. He got closer and learnt there had been an armed robbery at the Bank. The robbers had left 30 minutes ago shooting sporadically though no one was hurt.
Guess what, Phillip would have been shot and would have been confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life if he had gotten there 30 minutes ago. God knew this and God did not want that for him. So God rewrote Phillip's story. He sent a visitor to delay him. Phillip did not get to ask Joshua for the money on seeing what happened. He and his wife slept on an empty stomach for the first time in their married life. As he was lying in bed after he had said his prayers, a thought came to him. On waking up today, he committed that thought to God to bless his plan. He moved to his neigbours and offered that he and his wife could baby sit for them. A few of them brought their kids to them and paid on the spot, since they have always known them as a nice couple. They also offered to give music lessons.
This is the beginning of a new Chapter in Phillip's life as God who is the author of his life will write sweeter Stories in his life as he will grow to better Careers and accomplishments. He never knew that he would have been shot if Mr. Akin had not come to his house yesterday. He never knew he would have lost the use of his legs. This is how God works. He writes our life stories to have good endings. So even when you are hit with hard times, thank the Lord and tell him to show you his plans for you. I bet you, it is always good.

It’s Wednesday morning. I walk into the Office; bring out my Laptop to write a very complex and challenging argument in support of my matter. My head seems blocked, I think; ‘This is one of those slow days’.
I know I have to draft this argument as time is of essence. I have to submit same tomorrow. I start to get worried. What do I do? I pick of my Laptop and start to play Freecell. Yes, Freecell. Freecell is one of the free games you have on Laptops, Computers and some Phones. It is a game of cards, like Solitaire which I equally love and play. Before long, my mood improves; my energy surges and I open up Microsoft word and take on my Argument. At the end of the day I meet up with the target with a job well-done, because I refreshed my brain.
Sometimes I play these games, after a tiring Court Session, to cool off and refresh, in order to go down to other businesses. At the end of the day, what do I get, a relaxed mind, a fully activated brain and a good and satisfying job.
Playing these free games, as I play some other ones too, over time sharpen my brain and erase tension and negativity in my life. This is because I task my brain to accomplish non work related targets and tasks, seeking to achieve more wins in less time just for pleasure. You may note that too much of everything has negative effects; these games are to ease off tiredness and not your full time job.
Here are some of the other non-work related activities that can improve your output.
1. Sitting quietly in a park for about 30 minutes or longer.
2. Sitting quietly at your desk for a few minutes, thinking of and remembering some of the things that have made you happy in life.
3. Going for a short walk of about 10 minutes.
4. Reading a Fiction novel for a few minutes before you continue the Job and at your free times.
5. Listening to an upbeat music you enjoy.
6. Dreaming of positive goals you can achieve.
7. Going through some inspirational and motivational write-ups on the internet for a short while.
8. Doing any other thing you personally know lifts your spirit.

How to get Wisdom- Judith Dandison
HOW TO GET WISDOM. By Judith Dandison
It is God, who gave King Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, wisdom that gives Wisdom. If you desire wisdom, you must ask him for it, expecting to receive it, and it shall be yours.
As the Bible tells us;
Consider it pure joy my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the test of faith develops perseverance.
Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything.
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, & it will be given to him.
But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown & tossed by the wind. James 1: 2-6.

Predicting your future- Judith Dandison
I CAN PREDICT YOUR FUTURE.
If you want to know what your future holds as it relates to success read this.
I am not a psychic and I am not God but I know. This is because Success is Predictable. Why do I say this? Ok, let me have an insight of your thoughts.
Are your thoughts in most daring situations like;
1a) I knew I wouldn't get it, I should have not tried. or
b) Wow! I didn't get it, but what could be the reason?
2a) I cannot even dream of being an Actress, I don't even have any education not to talk of knowing someone in the industry. Or
b) Though I don't have any experience in acting, I believe I can be a good actress and I want to be one. I need to find out the steps I can take to actualize it.
3) John tells you to go to the brown House down the Street to get a book from Professor Ayo who he says is giving out free copies of his New book at the moment. On getting there you meet a big Iron gate blocking your entrance to the house, you think,
a) Ouch! John did not tell me the house has a gate. It looks locked. I have to turn back I guess the Professor has gone out. Or
b) On getting there, you touch the gate to see if it is actually locked and if yes, you check if you could see a bell to press and make inquiries where it is answered.
If your answers are mostly a) that means your future holds many failures, though there is hope of success if you make some changes. If your answers are mostly b) that means your future is full of success.
This is why:
Success does not fall from the skies. It takes the correlation of factors, which include your thoughts, your decisions, your actions and your resources. All these you can control. To achieve success in your Acadèmics, Career, Business, Marriage or in anything at all, you must first believe in yourself. Even if you have shortcoming occasioned on you by Life, you also have several advantages that some people don't have. You have to positively examine yourself to find them out. Secondly, if you don't succeed on a thing or series of things at a point in time, that doesn't make you a failure. It is just a challenge to try doing the same thing in another way, maybe by developing your knowledge on the working of the thing or to try another completely new thing. Thirdly, you must be determined to make a success of your life, Career, Job, Marriage, etcètera. Fourthly, you must dream dreams. That is, you must have dreams and targets. That way, you are focused and cannot be tossed around by circumstances and people. And importantly, you must try to find the solution to any problems you meet in trying to actualize your dreams, for as they say, obstacles are the things you see when you take your eyes away from your goal.

Woke up this morning to a flash of light from the open bedroom window. As I was trying to fathom where the light came from, I heard a blasting thunder. That was when I knew there was a thunder storm. Just immediately, another lightning flashed through followed by another blast. My two daughters jumped up immediately. They both shouted mummy same time. I answered 'yes' in a calming voice knowing they were awakened and scarred by the thunder blast. On hearing my voice, the 2 years old smuggled very close to my body and slept back immediately while the 5 years old held my hand and slept off. There followed several other louder thunder blast and flashes of lightning but they just slept peaceful without any care because they were sure their mom was close and for that all dangers were averted. Such trust and confidence, no questions as to whether their mother can actually avert all or any dangers. They were very confident they were safe just by my presence.
This made me understand the bible teaching that says, "unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven". You have to trust on the words and power of God without any care or cynicism. No wonder Jesus said, "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
I have learned that the Lord has my back in all situations. No doubts, no questions, just faith.

Choosing to be happy is the best of the choices. Sometimes it takes a deliberate decision for one to be happy considering some life experiences.
It is the healthy option.
It creates a beautiful picture of life on earth; life will be beautiful despite the ups and downs.
It is infectious; people around you will be happy because you are happy.
For a mother, you will have happy children.
If a man, you will have a happy family.
Helps you to see the brighter side of life; every situation will have a purpose.
It is the best beauty treatment as beauty comes from within.
You will succeed in your endeavors as with happiness comes positivity.
You will have happy friends as likes attract.
You will have a healthy relationships as you will not be overly skeptical or cynical thereby creating problems where there a none.
You will be fun being with.
You will be overtly blessed.
